Ollipekka Kotkajuuri
Associate
With Summa since 2009
Who are you and what do you do?
I am a currently an Associate at Summa. After graduating from Helsinki School of Economics in 2008, I was working with a U.S. based start up before joining Summa in May 2009.
Since day one I have been involved in interesting projects with some of the largest companies in Finland. The work itself is project oriented teamwork in a rapid paced environment.
In daily tasks, I use Excel and PowerPoint to prepare reports, presentations and financial analyses. Since progressing to Associate level I have taken on further responsibilities in client communication and project planning.
Why Summa Capital?
Summa is a leading independent investment bank in Finland. When I was looking for work in the investment banking industry my criteria was to land a job in a company that has top calibre management, brilliant colleagues, strong track record, good reputation and a bit of entrepreneurial spirit. Summa has all those assets in place and I have been very satisfied with my choice.
Where do you see yourself in 3 years time?
Since starting my work at Summa I have been impressed by the development of the company. As Summa intends to keep on expanding I hope that I will be a part of the growing success story.

Antti Uusitalo
Associate Director
With Summa since 2007
Who are you and what do you do?
I work as an Associate Director at Summa. I joined the company in May 2007. I have master’s degree in finance from Helsinki School of Economics (HSE).
As an Associate Director, I work with both project management and execution. My daily tasks include project planning, guiding work of my junior colleagues and keeping contacts with our clients and potential other advisors involved in transactions. I am also often hands on in financial modelling and preparation of presentation materials. My responsibilities include also following of selected client industries and generating new transaction ideas.
Why Summa Capital?
Summa was actually the only investment bank that I applied to. At the time I was graduating I didn't really know if investment banking was for me but the risk of not liking the job was minimal as I'd be getting a fantastic corporate finance education. Your first job is very important and sets a foundation for your future career. Three years down the road I am very happy with my decision.
Summa Capital is a company that wants you to take responsibility early. For example, I've already been enjoying a high level of client exposure. Summa is a reputable Finnish investment bank. Looking at the deals Summa is involved in, no other Finnish investment bank could have given me the opportunity to work on so fascinating deals and thus give me a great learning experience.
How well are you able to manage you career and personal life?
Life as an M&A banker is not the easiest choice when it comes to the working hours. Our projects are often on short notice and involve our client's top management. However, I still find time to go and meet up with friends and do my favourite hobbies including football on the third highest level in Finland. Besides, I don't mind putting in the time when it generates positive feedback from the client and ensures that the materials are appreciated and well received. Personally I find the dynamic working environment of M&A very attractive.
